There are so many ways to support education in Cumberland and North Yarmouth. Please consider volunteering or joining one of the many organizations listed below.
The MSAD 51 PTO develops, maintains and finances programs, functions, and projects that provide enrichment opportunities for the students, parents and teachers in MSAD 51. Our grade level and school wide programming build upon classroom themes and building goals. We promote positive school and community relations by fostering communication among school administrators, teachers, parents and the community. As a tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) non-profit, we readily accept donations for use towards these efforts. Our primary fundraiser is the Sally Foster gift wrap sale held annually in September.
Foundation 51 is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, which was established in 1998 to promote educational excellence in MSAD 51 by funding grants that improve teaching and learning for all students, grades K-12. All of our schools receive grants, supporting many disciplines, from the arts to the sciences, and literacy to technology. To date, we have funded over $303,000 in enrichment activities, programs, and supplies for our school district through two grant cycles per year. Foundation 51 holds an annual auction fundraiser each fall. The support from our community enables us to enrich the learning of our students and make their education more meaningful.
The MSAD51 Arts Alliance is a volunteer, nonprofit organization committed to the celebration and exploration of the arts for the students of Cumberland and North Yarmouth. Financial support of our mission is accomplished through arts-based fund raising events, as well as by grants provided by Foundation 51, PTO, and the Greely Fund. Our annual events include Family Arts Night, Celebration of the Arts month, and arts based scholarships awarded to students. All of our endeavors are provided at no cost, offer art experiences for all, and are made possible by the varied contributions and talents of community members, teachers and students.
